Brownwood News – Local third grade teacher Kristin Hernandez was recently named as a finalist for the Texas Teachers of Tomorrow Teacher of the Year contest. Six teachers from across the state have been selected for the final round of voting. In order to qualify for the annual contest, teachers had to be nominated by their school’s principal.

Public voting for the Texas Teachers: Teacher of the Year finalists is open April 16-30th. The Teacher of the Year will then be announced during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 7-11th) and be awarded the grand prize of $5,000. There will also be prizes for the second and third place winners.
