Howard Payne University announced today that three local students recently received the HPU Alumni Association Scholarship for the 2012-2013 school year. Olivia Blevins and Jeff Jackson of Brownwood and Jaimie Jo Easley of Early each received the scholarship. They are freshman at Howard Payne University.
Eighteen students received the scholarship which is awarded annually to relatives of HPU alumni as selected by the association’s Scholarship Committee.
“We are so happy to be able to help students by awarding these scholarships,” said Nancy Heady, HPU’s director of alumni relations. “The money for the scholarships is provided by the Alumni Association from dues paid by alumni when joining the association. The more memberships we have, the more money we are able to award to students. We encourage everyone to join.”
Each recipient will be awarded $800 for the school year. For more information about the Alumni Association Scholarship, contact the alumni office at 1-800-950-8465.
