Several local restaurants and catering businesses have graciously volunteered to donate soup for the Good Samaritan’s ‘Empty Bowls’ event, to be held this Friday, November 6, at the Brownwood Depot and Cultural Center.
Participating restaurants and catering businesses include Sodexho Food Services, Section Hand Steak House, Texas 4 H Center, Runaway Train Café, Chick-fil-A, Steve’s Market and Deli and Prima Pasta.
Soup will be served for $10 a person from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Empty Bowls is being held to raise money and awareness for hunger needs in the community. Ninety percent of the proceeds from the day will be given to hunger needs in Brownwood, with the remaining ten percent being donated to Heifer International.
This will be the first Empty Bowls event held in Brownwood. Empty Bowls is a grassroots project of The Imagine/Render Group, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to positive and lasting social change through the arts, education, and projects that build community.
