Written by Ben Cox – National pizza chain Little Caesar’s offered its customers a free lunch combo if a 16th seeded team were to beat a #1 seeded team in the NCAA March Madness tournament.
And it happened.
The top team in the nation, the University of Virginia was soundly beaten by virtual unknown the University of Maryland Baltimore County 74 to 54 last Friday. This marks the first time a team ranked that low has ever beaten a top ranked team during this tournament.
Which is quite possibly the reason why the promotion was offered.
However, the company will make good on their promise on April 2nd by giving away 1 free lunch combo per household nationwide.
And the Brownwood location is included.
The local franchise is located in Commerce Square, and will be participating in the free combo giveaway on the 2nd.
The offer is available from 11:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. and is limited to a single combo per family. All orders must be placed before the 1:00 p.m. cutoff, simply being in line at that time will not guarantee a free pizza.
The lunch combo normally costs $5.00 and consists of a personal “deep dish” pizza and 20oz soda.
