Local physicians Robert H. Johnson, DDS and John Dunn, MD were honored during Brown County Commissioners’ Court on Monday, July 11th by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.

These two physicians, according to Sheriff Bobby Grubbs, have “saved the county a lot of money and have really gone above and beyond the call of duty of what normal people would do”.

Dr. Henry Johnson and Dr. John Dunn were awarded plaques of appreciation by Grubbs.

“Dr. Johnson has saved us a tremendous amount of money over the years with his service,” stated Grubbs.  “He has been dealing with inmates and extractions over the years, at minimal cost and sometimes at no cost.  He has been a valuable asset to us.”

“Dr. Dunn has also saved us a tremendous amount of money,” said Grubbs.  So we felt it was a good occasion to honor these men.”

Dr. Dunn stated that he had recommended that Dr. Johnson be recognized for his service to the county and was humbled by the plaque he also received.

Dr. Johnson spoke of his experience at the jail.

“I have not had one trouble with an inmate that the officers have brought in to me,” said Dr. Johnson, “The officers have done a great job.”

County Judge Ray West acknowledged the importance of the services that Drs. Johnson and Dunn have provided to Brown County.

“There’s no telling how much money we would have spent had it not been for those two doctors,” stated West.
