Volunteers from Love Brownwood, a missions group from Coggin Avenue Baptist Church recently packed bags of food for the Food for Thought Program.

This program is dedicated to improving the lives of Brown County children by providing backpacks full of kid-friendly, shelf-stable food to chronically hungry or food insecure students over the weekends and holidays during the school year.  All food is easy to open, kid-friendly and shelf-stable.

The program is completely free to area schools and is provided at no cost to the students. Students are enrolled in the program by referral of school faculty or staff.

Pictured above are volunteers from Love Brownwood.  Below are photos of volunteers preparing Food for Thought bags and shelves stocked for the program at GSM’s food pantry, with food ready to be packed.
