Tae Bo instructors around the world put together universal classes to take place this past Saturday, April 2nd raising money to aid Japanese disaster victims and a Brownwood gym, Fit By Faith, has joined in the cause.  These Tae Bo classes and their instructors asked for donations for the class and sold Pray for Japan T-shirts to raise money.

With about week to pull it together, Fit By Faith raised $887.  The last report, as of Wednesday, the total collected through the classes around the world was $13759 and it continues to grow. Fit By Faith’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the cause.

Krista and John Johnson, owners and instructors of Fit By Faith, have loved ones, friends and fellow Tae Bo Instructors in Japan.  Their mentor, famous Tae Bo instructor Billy Blanks, also has a residence there as well making the cause very close to their hearts.

“As Christians, we feel we must show the love of Christ to others at all times and this was a way we could help,” stated Krista.

She further explained how she feels about the disaster and the Japanese people’s struggle during this time.

“I do not think we can even fathom what is going on over there,” stated Krista.  “To us, it is like watching a disaster movie at the theater.  I often wonder as spoiled as we are as Americans if we could even handle this type of devastation?”

The amount of devastation and number of dead has burdened the Johnsons’ hearts.

“Over 10,000 people are dead, that is almost half the population of Brownwood and many are suffering greatly,” Krista said.  “It breaks my heart and this is the least we can do to help.”

Fit By Faith is still taking donations if anyone would like to help.  100% of everything Fit By Faith has earned is going to Japan.  They have partnered with a charity called Hartman House, which has made a way to give 100% of money raised to the disaster victims.
