Gary Twiford with Coldwell Banker, Mark Campbell & Associates confirmed that Heartland Mall recently sold and now has a new owner. The new owner is Victoria Retail Group, LLC of Austin, Texas, who are owners of more than 55 other malls, shopping and retail centers in Texas.
Twiford stated, “The new owners are very optimistic about the local retail market and anticipate a long-term relationship in the community. They recognized the current and potential value in the 215,000 square foot mall which was 83% occupied at the time of sale. They also recognized the value of the location on over 20 acres located at the intersections of U.S. Highway 183 North and U.S. Highway 377/183, in the center of Texas.”Heartland Mall currently offers stores such as JCPenny, Sears, Hollywood Theaters, Bath & Body Works, Hibbett Sports, Claire’s, Peddlers, Factory Connection, FX Game Exchange, GNC, Gallery Furniture, LeNails, Merle Norman and more. Shoppers can enjoy a meal at Chick-fil-A or Corn Dog 7. It is also houses Ranger College’s Brown County campus and the Social Security Administration office.
Twiford also confirmed the sale of the former Citibank building on Austin Avenue on October 27, 2015. The new owner is First Central Credit Union from Waco. They currently have their home office in Waco and own four other branch offices including their local branch at 2101 Fisk in Brownwood.
