Two blood drives are scheduled for next week in Brownwood to give area residents a chance to donate.
United Blood Services recently issued a critical appeal for all negative blood types. Their supply on hand is less than one day on all negative blood types.
There is always a need for blood and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in the community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most people will need donated blood sometime in their lives.
