Several area athletes participated in the 2A regional track meet at Odessa on April 26-27 and have earned their right to advance state. University of Texas in Austin will host the state UIL state track and field meet on May 10-11.
The Bangs Lady Dragons mile relay ran their all time best of 4:05, placing first and claiming the regional title and advancing to state. Team members (pictured above) are Destaine Finley, Kylie Allen, Charly Lipsey and Liz Pettit. Coaches for the Lady Dragons are Michelle Allen, Kelly Lipsey, and Meredyth Meador.
Early Lady Longhorns also participated in the regional meet and will send three to state. Callie Campbell placed 3rd with a time of 12:21 in the 3200M run; Aubrey Horton threw a 37’8” placing 3rd in the shot put; and Chelsea Johnston placed 3rd in the 800M run with a time of 2:26.
