Brownwood News – The Brownwood Public Library is excited to announce that a Little Free Library has been built at Coggin Park in Brownwood. The Little Free Library was built and adopted by The Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club of Early.
The Brownwood Public Library is planning to build eighteen Little Free Libraries around Brown County to benefit the residents, especially those who are unable to physically make it to the library due to lack of transportation or geographic distance.
“We are planning to partner with local organizations, including Experience Works, Lake Brownwood State Park, nursing homes, city parks, and others to install the Little Free Libraries in our community,” said Brianna Weaver, Little Free Libraries Coordinator for the Brownwood Public Library. “In addition, we are going to partner with schools, non-profits, community groups, community groups, and individuals to build these Little Free Libraries. We will also partner with local non-profits, businesses, and individuals to maintain the little free libraries.”
This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. (2018)
