Completing a perfect 10-0 regular season, the Brownwood Lions dominated over Abilene Wylie with a score of 45-7.

Summarizing the game in a post game interview, Lions Head Coach Bob Shipley gave credit to the entire team, especially the defense that does not get the acknowledgement the playmakers often receive.

“It’s been an incredible ride so far,” stated Shipley.  “Our defense doesn’t get near the credit they deserve.”

In speaking of the perfect 10-0 regular season, Shipley doesn’t take winning for granted staying focused on what the team needs to do each week to progress through to the state championship game.

“Getting to reach the first goal of District Championship, it’s just icing on the cake to do it undefeated,” said Shipley.

2010 is the fourth undefeated regular season for the Lions in BHS history.

The Lions enter the bi-district round of the playoffs next Thursday night in Springtown where they will face Iowa Park.  Tickets go on sale Monday.
