leapinglionThe Brownwood Lions baseball team showed that they mean business deep in the Class 3A playoffs on Friday as they defeated number nine ranked Lubbock Cooper 9-2 in game two of the regional semifinal.

Pitcher Graylon Brown threw a complete game allowing only four hits.

Brownwood’s Dillon Ellis hit a home run in the bottom of the first inning kicking things off.  Brown had a two-RBI triple the third inning. Tyler Edwards added an RBI double. 

Vance McShan is expected to miss the rest of the season after being struck in the face with a line drive in game 1, but was at the game supporting his team.

Brownwood had 9 runs on 5 hits and 0 errors in the game.  They go to a 27-8 record on the season.

Brownwood will face either Andrews or Kennedale next weekend in the regional finals.  As of Friday, Andrews is up one game against Kennedale with game two scheduled to be played on Saturday.
