The Brownwood Lions hit the practice fields Monday morning for their first practice to prepare for the upcoming 2013 football season.
On the first day, 121 players reported and participated in practice for the varsity, JV and freshmen teams.
The Lions have a pair of scrimmages scheduled, one against Godley on August 16th and another facing Marble Falls on August 23rd. The season will kick off August 30st at home against Fort Worth All Saints. The Lions will face District 8 – 3A opponents starting October 10th in Burnet. Some familiar non-district opponents are in the coming year’s schedule including Graham, Snyder, Abilene Wylie and Sweetwater.

Brownwood will host their annual ‘Meet the Lions’ event on Monday, September 2nd at 6 PM where all middle school and high school fall sports athletes will be introduced to the fans at Gordon Wood Stadium.
