Brownwood News – The Brownwood Lions shutout the Brock Eagles 10-0 Friday night to open the 2019 football season. It is only the second time in their short but successful history that Brock has been shut out in a football game.

The Lion defense held out Brock five times inside the 30 yard line. Defense was the key to victory for Brownwood. The Lions racked up 288 yards of offense and did not have any turnovers. The only touchdown of the game was an impressive 73 yard run by Reece Rodgers in the 2nd quarter. The only other score was a Blaize Espinoza’s 27 yard field goal late in the game.

Next up for the Lions is their Homecoming Game Friday night, September 6, as the Snyder Tigers come to Gordon Wood Stadium for the home opener. Snyder lost to Littlefield in their first game of the season, 34-27.
