It was a tough night for the Brownwood Lions baseball team as they faced Abilene Wylie in game one of the Region 1-3A quarterfinal round at Morris Southall Field. Wylie took an early lead and never looked back winning the game 12-1 which ended after the 5th inning.
Wylie scored 12 runs on 11 hits, while the Lions committed 4 crucial errors. The Lions had only 4 hits on the game and got one run which came in the bottom of the 5th.
Wylie and Brownwood square off again on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hardin-Simmons University for game 2 with game 3 to follow if needed.
The winner of this series will go on to play Burnet in the Semifinals.
