Jeremy Brown’s (25) pick 6 with 1:31 left in the third quarter put Brownwood up by 2 touchdowns and would be the play that sealed the game for the Lions, closing the Friday night Class 4A Division I bi-district win over Sanger with 40-21.

At halftime Brownwood and Sanger were tied 21-21. The Lions stood their ground with a huge red zone stops. JV quarterback Tommy Bowden was brought into the game for a key play in which he launched a 37-yard touchdown pass to a wide-open Corleone Pressley with 2:29 left in the 3rd quarter.

Lions’ defense was key in the second half, shutting down Sanger on eight possessions, three of which ended in Lion territory.

The Brownwood Lions will go on to battle Andrews in San Angelo next Friday.
