SNYDER — The Brownwood Lions clinched the District 5-3A baseball championship Friday by defeating the Snyder Tigers 7-2. The Lions dodged a three-way tie for the title which gives them a bye through the bi-district round of the playoffs.
James Crow pitched a complete game and hit a three-run homer giving the Lions an early lead. Crow struck out nine and allowed one earned run on five hits.
Vance McShan and Graylon Brown had two hits each while Dillon Ellis, Tyler Edwards, James Crow, Graham Mask, and Mitch Stephens had one hit each.
The Lions go to a 19-7 record on the season and a 7-1 record in district play with a loss to Abilene Wylie earlier this week.
Area round playoff games will be played the week of May 14th.
