LionsClubIntLogoThe Lions are returning to the Pecan Bayou on February 23, 2016 when twenty-two members, both men and women, celebrate the charter night of the newly formed Pecan Bayou Lions Club at the Early Chamber of Commerce, located at 104 E. Industrial Blvd., in Early, Texas at 6:00 p.m.

During the ceremonies, Lions District Governor A. J. Dollie will present the new club with its official charter.  Members of the Kingsland Lions Club, who sponsored the formation of the Pecan Bayou Lions Club, will also be on hand to congratulate members of the new club.  “I am proud to welcome these men and women into the Lions.  Early and Brownwood will be proud to have such a fine group serving their community,” said Dave Richison of the Kingsland Lions Club who played an instrumental role in the Club’s new formation.

Lions clubs are groups of service-minded men and women who seek to serve their community and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.  At the heart of every Lion is a desire to serve their community, which is reflected in the Lions club motto—“We Serve.”  Lions clubs make local communities better places to live, and people know that they can count on Lions to pitch in on a diverse array of community service activities related to sight, children and youth, diabetes, literacy, hearing, disaster relief, and even global outreach projects.

In keeping with that heart of service, the newly formed Pecan Bayou Lions Club has already been active in the community having participated in the Toys for Kids distribution day and volunteered with the Salvation Army over the holidays.

The Pecan Bayou Lions Club will meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 12:00pm in the Carnegie Room of the Brownwood Public Library, located at 600 Carnegie in Brownwood, Texas.  For more information or to get involved with the Pecan Bayou Lions Club, please contact club President Aaron C. Seymour at 210-385-5531.

The Pecan Bayou Lions Club is a part of Lions Clubs International, which is the world’s largest service club organization with nearly 1.3 million members and approximately 45,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
