The Brownwood Lion powerlifting team participated in the Brady Invitational Powerlifting Meet on Thursday, February 14th, taking 4th place as a team over-all.
This was the team’s second powerlifting meet. Next Friday, February 22nd, the team will travel to Strawn and then the following week, they will participate in the Regional Powerlifting meet.
At each meet, these athletes have three different types of lifts to execute: Dead-lift, Bench Press and Squat. With each type of lift, the lifters have three lift chances to get their maximum weight and they must have at least one complete lift in each category to get a qualifying total in order to have a chance in placing at the meet. Approximately 350 lifters from around the area participated at the meet in Brady on Thursday.
