Linda Gail Fonville Brown of Brownwood, TX passed away quietly Friday morning, March 19, 2010. She was born in Galveston, TX August 8, 1933. She was a graduate from Brownwood High School and a graduate from Howard Payne University with a Bachelors Degree. Linda married Billy Harlow Brown on July 22, 1950. They were married almost sixty years. Linda is survived by three cherished daughters; Nancy and Darrell Moore of Early, Patricia Roberts and Brad Lancaster of Lampasas, TX, and Kathy and Alan Washington of Lometa, TX. She had nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her mother Willie Bell Herring Fonvill, her father Fred W. Fonville, and one son Terry Lynn Brown.
Linda had a passionate love for God, her husband, family, friends, and animals. She was very active in the Good Samaritans, Brownwood Quilt Guide, Busy Bee Quilting Club of Lake Victor, Meals on Wheels, Eastern Star, and the First Christian Church. She started the “noisy offering”
at her church. Linda quilted well over sixty quilts for the children at our own Brownwood Hospital. Linda never knew a stranger and always made sure no one was overlooked. One could be so lucky to call her wife, mother, and friend. She was loved by all and will be forever missed.
