This year’s Spirit of Christmas lighted parade will be one of the largest ever in the parade’s history. The parade takes over 120 volunteers to organize, produce, and operate the more than 100 entries and thousands of participants.
Horses, Buses, Semi-trailers, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Marching Bands, Rock Bands, Walking Milk Shakes, Clowns, Vintage Automobiles, Fire Trucks, Police Cars, Ambulances, Cheerleaders and Nationally Ranked Division 1 University Booster Club support trailers all help to make up the annual lighted parade that winds itself through the Historic Downtown District of Brownwood.
The Grand Marshal of the parade this year is Good Samaritan Ministries represented by Angela Bostick, Executive Director. Representatives of Southside Church who are organizing the parade said they are excited about this year’s Grand Marshal as Good Samaritan Ministries is a fantastic testimony to the Spirit of Christmas. In this year’s parade, there are over 15 awards to be handed out to entries in several categories.
