LMorganLettie Belle Coggin Morgan, 94, died in Seguin, Texas, Tuesday, March 2, 2010.  She was born in Indian Creek, Texas, the second child and only daughter of Rowland Wilson Coggin and Lida Belle Roberts Coggin.  Raised and educated in Brownwood, Texas, she earned two degrees in Spanish from Howard Payne University.  She married Edgar Lee Morgan in 1940 and bore a single daughter, Julia Lee Morgan Spikes, who predeceased her mother.  Mrs. Morgan was an active member of the Methodist Church all of her life, especially, First United Methodist in Brownwood and First United Methodist in Seguin.

For years, she taught English and Spanish in both Cross Plains, Texas, and in Brownwood.    She will be interred with her husband and daughter at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas on Saturday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. Bruce W. Coggin, her nephew, officiating.  She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 710 N. Austin St., Seguin, Texas 78155 or to the First United Methodist Church, 2500 11th St., Brownwood, Texas 76801.  Contributions will go toward the purchase of Bibles for the confirmation class at each church.
