Leslie Dale Karnes, 56, of Brownwood, passed away on January 16, at his home. He was born March 2, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas to N.C. and Zelma Karnes.
He graduated from Mullin High School, and was retired from Brown County and the City of Brownwood. He was a member of Brownwood Evangelism Center.
Leslie was preceded in death by parents, N.C. and Zelma Karnes; brother, John Karnes; and sister, Donna Kay Karnes, and four nephews.
He is survived by his children, Les and Karen Karnes of Bangs, Cliff and Shauna Karnes of Early, Levi Karnes of Brownwood, and grandchildren, Trey, Kylea, and Jackson Karnes. He is also survived by his siblings, Noah Karnes, Dorothy Karnes of Brownwood, Robert and Juanita Karnes of Brownwood, George and Debra Karnes of Goldthwaite, Leo and Judy Karnes of Brownwood, Linda and Jim Tippie of Priddy, Penny Paschell, Cindy and Bobby Outlaw of Goldthwaite, Kitty and Oscar Urbanoski of San Angelo, and several nephew and nieces.Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Heartland Funeral Home. Funeral services for Leslie will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 20, at Brownwood Evangelism Center. Leslie will be laid to rest at Blanket Cemetery.
