Miss Valdez, with loved ones by her side, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, on Wednesday, April 14, 2015 in Lampasas, Texas.

LeRay Margaret Valdez was born on March 2, 1968, in Santa Anna Texas to Esteban Valdez and Catherine Dumas Valdez. She grew up in the Brownwood area and graduated from Brownwood High School. LeRay had worked at the Janie Clements Workshop in Brownwood before moving to Lampasas in 2002. One of her favorite activities was bowling and she always enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics. Anyone that spent time with LeRay, knew that she had a sweet spirit, a kind heart and she never missed an opportunity to dance.  Her precious smile will forever be missed, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now dancing with the Angels in Heaven.

Those left  behind to cherish her memory are her eight brothers, Frank Valdez and wife Mary, Steve Valdez and wife Betty, Ray Valdez and wife Margie and Danny Valdez and wife Brenda, all of Brownwood, Raymond Valdez and wife Jennifer, of Early, Jimmy Valdez and wife Terri, of Bangs, Ruben Valdez and wife Toni, of Snyder and Marty Valdez and wife Donna, of Rhome; three sisters, Juanita Ischy and husband Ron, of Lampasas, Suzy Traweek and husband Dennis, of Bangs and Linda Buchanan and husband Wilbert, of Copperas Cove and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Esteban and Catherine Valdez and a brother, John Valdez.

The Valdez family would like to thank Dr. Robyn Cane and her staff for the care and concern that was given, as well as New Century Hospice for their kindness and compassion that was shown in such a difficult time in our lives.  Above all else, we want to show our love and appreciation to our sister Juanita Ischy and her husband Ron for the unconditional love and devotion given to LeRay for the last 14 years of her life. For that, we will be eternally grateful.

The family requests that if desired, memorials can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Brown County, P.O. Box 488, Brownwood, TX 76804, in Memory of LeRay Valdez.

Family and friends are invited and encouraged to sign this online guestbook at www.nethertonfuneralhome.com.
