Funeral services for Leota Potts, age 80, of Brownwood, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Haven of Hope Church with Pastor Brian Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Potts died Sunday morning at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Leota was born March 31, 1930 in Dublin, Texas, the daughter of the late Matt and Nora (Hank) Matheney. She had been a resident of Brownwood for many years and was a member of Haven of Hope Church.
Survivors include her children, Barbie and Johnny Little of Brownwood, Nora and Hubert Gandy of Blanket, Dillard Ray Potts, Jr., of Brownwood and William Edward Potts of Brownwood; grandchildren, Loretta Little, Johnny Little, Jr., and Maryann Margaret Little; great grandchildren Michael Charles, Jr, Dakota, Jessica and Monica Wright; and special nieces, Juanell Carlisle and Nelda Jo Peel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Ray Potts, Sr., and daughter, Stella Joy Potts.
