Leonda Hawkins Allgood, age 47, of Zephyr lost her battle to cancer on Sunday, July 13, 2014 with her family by her side.
Memorial Services for Leonda will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Zephyr Tabernacle with Pat Riley and Brian Griffin officiating, private interment. No visitation will be held. The family request that casual attire or the “Fight Like a Girl” shirt be wore to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials be made in honor of Leonda to the “Allgood Memorial Fund” and sent to Blaylock Funeral Home, 1914 Indian Creek Rd. Brownwood, Texas 76801. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Leonda was born on November 2, 1966 to Kenneth and Hazel (Moseley) Hawkins in Brownwood. She graduated from Brownwood High in 1985. After high school, she attended and played basketball and volleyball for Howard Payne University for 2 years. On June 9, 1995 Leonda married her soul mate, Dominic Allgood. She worked at Superior Essex for 25 years, but her number one job was being a mom to her two kids. Leonda touched more lives in her time here on earth than most people would dream about. She fought a courageous battle with grace and dignity. She endured more pain than we can imagine, only to spare us the pain of losing her. Her life leaves a legacy of unconditional love, kindness, family, strength, courage, hope beyond this earth, faith, and trust in our savior. She will be greatly missed. Her smile and spirit will be carried on through all of the lives she touched through her journey of life.She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Dominic Allgood of Zephry; two children, Jacob and Maddison Allgood of Zephyr; mother, Hazel Hawkins of Early; siblings, Yvonne Perry of Brownwood, Dennis Stearns and wife Donna of Granbury, Shana King and husband King of Zephyr; mother-in-law, Terry Cejka of Bangs; sister-in-law, Jodi Wooldridge and husband Joseph of Brownwood. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Hawkins; and sister, Elizabeth Ashley.
