Leona G. Coker McRight, age 86, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Leona was born March 16, 1929 in Richland Springs, Texas to Ernest and Mary Ives. She was a longtime resident of Brownwood where she was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and Victory Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers, hummingbirds, camping, fishing and most of all her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 sons, Douglas Templin of Brownwood, Thomas Templin and wife Terry of Ohio; 4 daughters, Marsha Perez of Brownwood, JoAnn Grady and husband Charles of Az, Linda Martinez and husband Tomas of Brownwood, and Gloria Pena and Eric Sullivan of Brownwood; 2 brothers, Wallace Black and wife Merriola, and Davis Black and wife Doris both of Utah; 2 sisters, Dorothy Kilroe and husband Dennis of Utah, Mary Santistevan and husband Ray of Idaho; grandchildren, Ruben Perez and wife Jenny, Tony Perez and wife Carrie, Michael Perez and wife Joy, Jennifer Garcia and husband Joe, Antonio Facundo and wife Delia, Linda Facundo, Jerry Baird Jr and Kristi Tressler, Kayleen See, Tamara Byer and husband Tim, Mara Scalley and husband Timmy, Joshua See and wife Caiti, and Misty Pena and Sky Self; great-grandchildren, Hannah Perez, Gideon Perez, Timothy Perez, Elena Perez, Maggie Perez, Olivia Perez, Oscar Perez, Joe Garcia, Alexis Garcia, Elizabeth Facundo, Julian Facundo, Anthony Facundo, Breanna Facundo, Dominic Facundo, Ravin Clubb, Kelly Baird, Mariyah Hernandez, McKenzie Spearman, Ashton Byer, Sam See, Avrie Scalley, and Zoe Scalley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Sharon Kay; son, Ronald Lewis Templin; sister, Edith O’Conner; brother, Charles Goins; great-grandson, Micah Perez; and son-in-law, Joe Perez.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ruben Packer officiating, interment will follow in the Jenkins Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00–8:00 P.M. Thursday May 7, 2015 at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
