Funeral Services for Leon Beal, 82, of Early, Texas will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May, 10, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Early with Bro. Eddie Ailshie officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Beal passed away Saturday, May 07, 2011 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Albert Leon Beal was born on March 7, 1929 in Early, Texas to Robert Glen and Gladys Wells Beal. He served in United States Air Force and married Bobbie Funderburg on January 8, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Early. A lifetime resident of this area, Leon retired from the State Department of Highways. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Early Lions Club.
Papa as he was known to those who loved him, was our strength and our hero. He loved us unconditionally as we did him. We will miss him everyday, but rejoice that he is resting with the angels.

Proceeded in death by his parents, son-in-law Dellwyn Hughes, brother Glenn Beal and a sister Clara Burnley.
