Written by Amanda Coers – The Lehnis Railroad Museum in Brownwood will be hosting a “Wheels that Move the World” event on March 16th-17th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is only $5 for adults, $2 for kids ages 5-11, and children under age 5 get in free. The mini train ride will be open for $2 per ride.

The event will feature over 25 different vehicles to explore in a “hands-on” learning event. Everything from firetrucks, police cruisers, construction equipment to brand new cars from local dealers will be on site at the museum.

While attendees are sure to get a thrill exploring military vehicles courtesy of the National Guard at Camp Bowie, staff at the museum also feel there are opportunities to learn about more commonplace vehicles in our area.

Some of the vehicles listed in the event include:

  • Firetrucks from both the Brownwood Fire Department
  • Law Enforcement vehicles
  • Tractors
  • City of Brownwood, TxDot, and Brown County service vehicles, including some road construction equipment
  • The Immunization Truck from the Brown County Health Department
  • Construction Equipment

Inside the Lehnis Museum there will be more opportunity to explore vehicles and motorcycles from The House of Wheels.
