Special Release – The Martin & Frances Lehnis Railroad Museum in Brownwood will be hosting a Family Day on Saturday, February 5th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A special reduced price of $2 for adults and children over the age of 4 years old will be accepted. Children under 4 years old will be admitted at no charge.

This month’s Family Fun Day theme is: Come See Why We Love Trains. The museum encourages visitors to help create a heart filled art collage that will be displayed at the museum during the Stars of Texas Art Exhibit, February 5-17th. Museum visitors on Family Day can also search the exhibits for hearts filled with train trivia, listen to “train love songs,” and take a ride on the mini train, which will be decorated for the occasion. Visitors can also bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the train observation deck outside of the museum.

 

Located across the street from the historic Brownwood Santa Fe Depot and Fred Harvey House, the Martin & Frances Lehnis Railroad Museum showcases the railroad history of Brownwood, Central Texas, and the American Southwest.Exhibits include a variety of railroad memorabilia and equipment, photos and stories of early railroads while vividly interpreting the importance of the railroad to this area and American life. Also on display are running model trains of every size.
