Funeral Services for L.B Followwell, age 87, of May will be held Saturday June 02, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at The Brownwood Evangelism Center in Brownwood with Pastor Ken Colegrove officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for family only, then from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the general public Friday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. He passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at a local nursing home surrounded by his loved ones. L.B was born to on April 12, 2012 in Corsicana, Texas to J.H. and Lucy (Blackstock) Followwell.
L.B. married Patsy (Levisay) Followwell on November 20, 1948 at Rev. Harry Hames House in Brownwood. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a life-time member of The Brownwood Evangelism Center. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was enlisted in the 321st Infantry. He was a mechanic for most of his life, but he also was retired from the City of Brownwood as a Garage Manager. L.B. enjoyed fishing and liked fixing stuff. He loved playing with his grandkids and always had a good sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patsy Followwell of May; a daughter, Barbara Horton and husband Kenneth of May; 4 grandchildren, Delilah Horton and husband Sergio of Brownwood, Jody Horton and wife Sarah of Bangs, Toby Horton and wife Melissa of May, Will Horton and spouse Letitia; 15 great-grandchildren, Shelcy and husband Kevin Reeves, Charity Sagebiel, Baylen Horton, Jasolynn Ringler, Cameron Horton, Kyle Ringler, Sergio Gutierrez Jr., Elizabeth Horton, Sydney Horton, Hadara Jones, Jaslyn Gutierrez, Grace Ringler, Kailegh Johnson, Candelario Mata IV, Gaby Mata, and Keira Horton. 2 great-great grandchildren, Blake Tomme, and Aubrey Reeves; also a special pet, named “Brownie”; 2 brothers, Everett Followwell and wife Ruth of Lake Brownwood, O.D. and wife Wanda of Brownwood; 1 sister; Mozelle Walton of New Mexico, and 1 sister-in-law, Beth Followwell, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. L.B. is preceded in death by his parents, J.H. and Lucy Followwell, 1 sister; Nina Hall, 1 brother; Alvie Followwell and 1 niece, Peggy Withers.
