Monday, April 9th
12:20 p.m. A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence on CR 608 in Brownwood for an assault family violence call. Upon arrival, the complainant stated she had been assaulted by her mother’s live-in boyfriend. An investigation is ongoing.
(No time available) A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy performed a traffic stop on a red Ford Thunderbird for a defective headlamp. The driver, identified in the report as Rita Redmon, was arrested for possession marijuana after a probable cause search of the vehicle. Numerous containers of marijuana were found throughout the vehicle. Combined weight of the fresh marijuana was 4.85 ounces and additional burnt marijuana scraps were approximately 6 grams.
Tuesday, April 10th
1:13 a.m. A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy checked on a vehicle on the side of the road on FM 2559 near CR 116. The Deputy came across two subjects, who identified themselves as Justin Travis Faraoni and “Rowdy Swankston,” walking from one of the bridges. During the investigation, it was discovered Swankston was actually Byron B. Neef, a wanted fugitive out of Kansas. Two glass pipes were discovered containing a crystallized substance, which field tested positive for methamphetamines. Faraoni was placed in custody for Possession of Controlled Substance less than one gram. Neef was placed in custody for Kansas warrants, Fail to Identify Fugitive, and Possession of Controlled Substance less than one gram.
10:44 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Avenue B regarding a loose dog chasing someone. The owner was located and a citation was issued.
Wednesday, April 11th
1:27 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence on Avenue W in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke with the complainant, witnesses and suspects at that location. After an investigation the subject was arrested for Assault by Offensive Touch Family Member, Class C Misdemeanor, and Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Member, Class A Misdemeanor.
Thursday, April 12th
12:33 a.m. A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy spoke with a complainant by phone in regards to a domestic disturbance. The victim stated a male suspect had grabbed her arms and forced her thumb onto her phone to unlock the phone. The Deputy noted the victim had a small bruise on her right wrist. A report was made and an investigation is ongoing.
