Saturday, September 5
*4:25 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the County Road 257 regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated someone had pulled his address marker from its post and threw it to the ground, then “burnt out” on it with their vehicle tire. The complainant also stated that someone had also taken the stop sign located at the intersection of CR 257 and CR 258 where his sign was found.
*7:23 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 487 regarding harassment. According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her by phone and through text messages since January or February of this year.
Sunday, September 6
*11:13 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a third party call reporting an unwanted person at a residence on County Road 494 north of May. According to the report, the deputy met with the complainant and her son. The complainant explained that she no longer wanted her son to live with her and that she had assaulted him during an argument, the report states.
*1:47 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the law enforcement center regarding forgery/counterfeiting. According to the report, checks had been forged on the account of a local sports organization and a possible suspect had been identified.*6:36 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 477 in May regarding an attempted vehicle theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a known suspect had attempted to steal his vehicle from the driveway of the property.
Monday, September 7
*1:07 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on N. US Hwy 183 in May regarding suspicious activity. According to the report, the complainant stated that a former friend of hers was at her home earlier, knocking on her window at about 1:00 a.m. The complainant stated she wished for a criminal trespass warning to be issued to the male subject.
*10:13 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Lake Shore Drive regarding an assault which had occurred. According to the report, the complainant was mowing a friend’s yard, when the suspect reportedly approached him demanding money for a book the victim was loaned and lost. The victim said the suspect then punched him on his right shoulder; however, he did not wish to pursue criminal charges, the report states.
*5:13 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Alpine Court regarding the theft of a lawn mower, valued at $399.00. According to the report, the theft occurred sometime since the last use of the mower on August 24th.
*9:09 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence on County Road 546 regarding a reported domestic disturbance with shots fired and 2 subjects armed with shotguns. According to the report, the suspect was intoxicated and had fired a shotgun into the air, pointed it at a male relative and threatened suicide. A second male relative was on scene and had been carrying his gun to defend himself after he heard a shot fired; however he was found to have committed no offense, the report states. All residents were given courtesy rides to stay elsewhere for the night and the scene was cleared to de-escalate the situation for everyone’s safety, according to the deputy’s report.
Tuesday, September 8
*1:01 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of 11th Street regarding suspicious activity. According to the report, neighbors had witnessed a known male subject, inside the residence. Witnesses had knowledge that the male was not allowed at the residence and when the suspect saw witnesses had seen him inside the home, he fled on a bicycle. Due to BPD having other priority calls, a BCSO deputy assisted by responding to the call initially.
*4:04 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the area of 3rd Street and Avenue K regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the suspect vehicle had left the scene of the accident.
*4:22 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the intersection of 2nd Street and Hawkins regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, an incident report for driving while intoxicated was generated.
*10:37 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Center Avenue regarding the burglary of a building, a snow cone stand. According to the report, the complainant stated someone had broken out the window of the business door and had stolen a set of keys from inside. The incident occurred sometime between the hours of about 10:30 p.m. on September 7th and 10:30 a.m. on September 8th, the report states.
*1:08 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Melwood Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had been sexually assaulted.
*5:27 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s met with a complainant at the law enforcement center who reported a male subject had assaulted him at a residence on County Road 407.
*9:47 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on US Highway 183 North, in Brownwood, regarding an assault. According to the report, the victim stated that earlier that evening he had gotten in an argument at his residence with his daughter’s boyfriend, 30-year-old Brandon Lee Beam of Early. After a short investigation and interviews, Beam was placed under arrest for assault family violence strangulation.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Joshua Wayne Dyess of Brownwood on a Mason County warrant for theft.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 35-year-old Jonathan Brad Pearson of Blanket on a warrant related to motion to revoke/probation violation/driving while intoxicated 2nd.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 45-year-old Joe William Stephens of Brownwood on a warrant related to manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
Wednesday, September 9
*1:08 AM – Brownwood Police along with Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 2000 block of Slayden Street regarding a citizens’ dispute. According to the report, the incident was determined to be mutual combat/disorderly conduct.
