Thursday, September 5

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Hwy 279 North where he received a report of a stolen lawnmower valued at $600.

Friday, September 6

*10:49 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Hawkins Street regarding theft.  According to the report, a subject had witnessed two females steal a gas can from the residence.  The suspects were located and identified, then issued citations for Class C theft and released.

*1:15 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of W. Austin Avenue and Bailey Street in reference to graffiti.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a storage trailer had been vandalized with spray paint.

*4:17 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the 1500 block of Bluebonnet Hills Drive in Early regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that approximately $251.00 worth of tools had been stolen from a trailer house that she had been working on.

*6:35 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  After an investigation, 33-year-old Patricia Brown of Early was arrested and charged with theft over $50.  Items stolen included a Duck Dynasty t-shirt, a blue t-shirt, a Full House DVD, a Cabbage Patch doll, and another doll, the report states.

*8:09 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding an alleged sexual assault.  According to the report, a male juvenile was placed under arrest for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

*9:36 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy arrested Tracy Bishop for evading arrest or detention.  According to the report, Bishop had attempted to avoid BCSO deputies by going into a residence and then jumping out of a front bedroom window.  She then ran across from the residence and was apprehended, the report states.  Bishop stated that she knew deputies were looking for her and that she was trying to avoid them, the report states.

*11:57 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of 4th Street and Fisk Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the responding officer located a white passenger car with front end damage; however, the suspect vehicle, a blue SUV had fled the scene.

*Brownwood City Marshal arrested 27-year-old Fay Marie Flores on warrants for no driver’s license, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and parent contributing to non attendance.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 55-year-old Sheryl Dawn Scott of May on a warrant for theft of property.

*Early Police arrested 17-year-old Zoe Dawn Thomas of Early for disorderly conduct.

Saturday, September 7

*7:07 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Avenue E regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she was assaulted by her boyfriend the day before and that he had returned this date.

*12:15 AM – Brownwood Police responded to a possible domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of Avenue B.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her husband had been smoking marijuana inside the house and she was tired of it.  The complainant gave the responding officer a partially smoked, hand rolled cigarette which had the odor of marijuana, the report states.  Her husband, identified as 65-year-old Jesse Basquez, confessed to having smoked marijuana and to ownership of the partially smoked cigarette, the report states.  He then gave consent to search his room where another marijuana cigarette was located, according to police.  Basquez was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*1:00 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding the fraudulent use of identifying information.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the offense took place in 2009 due to a lost social security card at a south Brownwood residence.  Following that, the complainant reported that an unknown subject had used the social security number from the card to report financial earnings in several states, according to the report.  The incident is under investigation.

*3:34 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Fisk Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant advised that a white male was observed stealing his cell phone from the complainant’s unoccupied vehicle.  The suspect was located and identified as 22-year-old James Whetstone.  Whetstone was arrested and charged with burglary of a vehicle.    The cell phone was returned to the complainant, the report states.

*3:47 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, a subject was being detained for theft.  An investigation led to the arrest of 21-year-old Richard James Potter for theft Class B.

*Texas DPS arrested 19-year-old Sergio Benitez of Leander for possession of marijuana.

*Brownwood Police arrested 44-year-old Adam Lewis Bolden of Brownwood on warrants for theft of service and no seat belt.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Robert Brady Burton of Long Grove for DWI.

*Texas DPS arrested 53-year-old Ernestine Lujan of Fort Worth for DWI.

*Brownwood Police arrested 46-year-old Kimberly Mitchell from Irving on a warrant for theft by check.

Sunday, September 8

*3:50 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, an investigation led to the arrest of Joe Cadena for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana

*8:12 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding criminal mischief.   According to the report, the complainant stated that someone damaged her property and then stole items from the outside of her residence.

*12:44 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Oakland Drive regarding a terroristic threat.  According to the report, an estranged spouse called the complainant on the telephone and threatened to do her “serious injury.”  The incident was forwarded for an investigation, the report states.

*2:27 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue A regarding theft.  According to the report, the caller wanted options on being accused of stealing property.

*4:25 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1700 block of 4th Street regarding a domestic disturbance.

*8:47 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Nathana’s, located in the 100 block of S. Broadway, regarding an individual attempting to ride a bicycle that kept falling.  According to the report, the caller reported that the individual was seated on the ground leaning on the wall of the business.  On scene, the officer observed a male, identified as Paul Challenger, seated in the parking lot of Nathana’s next to the wall, the report states.  This call led to the arrest of Challenger for public intoxication.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on Stanley Lane regarding a domestic disturbance.  According to the report, the female complainant stated that she had been assaulted by her husband during an argument over a cell phone.  The complainant stated that she was choked and struck by her husband several times throughout the house, the report states.  The argument escalated as the husband, identified as Daryl Wayne Ward began firing a rifle inside the home.  Ward was located and arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of deadly conduct.  According to the report, the complainants stated that they had heard a loud noise at their home on Lisa May Lane in Early between 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m.  The wife stated that she found a dent and scarred paint on the right side of a pickup in the carport.  The husband then found an expended .45 caliber bullet on the floor of the carport, the report states.

*Texas DPS arrested 42-year-old Bennett Massey from Thorndale on warrants for theft and failure to appear.

*Texas DPS arrested 38-year-old Randy Heath Schoen from Brownwood for DWI 2nd.

*Bangs Police arrested 43-year-old Jessie Ray Walls of Bangs for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
