Law enforcement arrests and reports released September 8-9, 2011.

Wednesday, September 7

*10:24am-Brownwood Police responded to the 600 block of Roanoke Avenue in reference to theft.  The complainant stated that she is employed at a local hair salon and that one of her customers paid her with a post dated check.  A few days later, an unknown person stole the check out of her bag.  The check was later cashed.

*10:37am-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of N. Fisk regarding a motor vehicle theft.  The complainant stated that his 1998 Ford Expedition was stolen from the Hastings parking lot around 10:20am.  Keys to the vehicle were left in the ignition and the doors were unlocked.  A suspect was caught on surveillance video and is described as a white male in his early 20s with a long tattoo on his left forearm.  The vehicle has been noted as stolen in the NCIC database.  Anyone with information regarding this crime should call the Brownwood Police at 325-646-2525.

*2:03pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Southpark Drive in reference to a scam.  The complainant reported receiving an Express Mail envelope which contained a survey and money order for completing the survey.  She reported the envelope because she felt the items were suspicious.

*9:37pm-A Brownwood Policeman made a traffic stop in the 1600 block of 5th Street.  Investigation determined that the driver, 20-year-old Danielle Wells, was driving with a suspended license.  Wells was arrested on charges of Driving While License Invalid.

*10:20pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Woodridge regarding theft.  The complainant stated that an unknown suspect(s) stole his wife’s cell phone.

*Brownwood Police met with the registered owner of a vehicle which was towed and had a hold placed on it after it was abandoned in front of a residence September 3rd and was determined to have struck a water meter nearby.   At the time of the initial report, it was determined that the driver left the scene.

A follow up report stated that an officer spoke with the registered owner of the vehicle, whose son had been driving it to and from work at a local nursing home.  According to the report, the son stated that he had worked the night shift at the home, had went to his grandparents’ home after work and ate some cereal, and was heading to his parent’s house at approximately 6:00am, when he began to get sleepy at the intersection of Magnolia and Southside and had hit the curb.  The son admitted that when he arrived at the intersection of Holcomb and Southside, he swerved and drove through a yard in the 2600 block of Southside.  When he swerved back onto the roadway, he noted he had a flat tire and assumed that it was caused by his striking the curb.  He left the car parked in front of a residence in the 2600 block of Southside.

Thursday, September 8

*7:20am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Camelot Apartments, located at 2001 Slayden Street regarding a burglary of a vehicle.  Police state several burglaries were reported throughout the day and that most of the stolen items were abandoned in different locations of the apartment complex.  If a suspect is located, charges are being pursued.  The report stated that a GPS and purse were stolen out of one vehicle and later found with a medical bag of an HPU student trainer had been stolen out of another vehicle.  The second complainant also had an iPhone charger and an adapter also stolen with the medical bag.  Both complainants stated their vehicles had been locked before the thefts occurred.

The incident was determined to have happened between the hours of 11:00pm on 9/7 and 7:00am on 9/8.  When the officer spoke with the apartment manager, another tenant reported that an amp had been stolen from a truck parked in the complex.

*7:30am-Brownwood Police issued a criminal trespass warning to a subject regarding a residence in the 1000 block of Avenue K.

*2:39pm-Brownwood Police received a report of suspected child abuse, possibly sexual abuse.  An investigation is ongoing.

*5:58pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 4300 block of Mimosa regarding a burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that approximately 3 weeks ago, someone broke into his home and stole a .38 caliber revolver.

*9:47pm-Brownwood Police received a report of medication theft from a group home in Brownwood.  The house supervisor reported that 112 Haloperidol and 27 Lorazepam tablets were taken during the offense.

*Early Police arrested 21-year-old Daniel Evan Bond of Odessa for Assault Family Violence.

Friday, September 9

*12:37am-According to the report, a citizen brought a wallet into the Brownwood Police Department that she reported to have found near the roadway, in Kroger’s parking lot, located at 302 N. Main Street.  There was no contact information inside the wallet.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
