Saturday, September 1

*4:01pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 11th Street regarding a juvenile problem.  According to the report, a complainant stated that she saw three juvenile males walking down the street and that one appeared to have thrown something down on the ground, which was later found to be a kitten, and then picked it up and then was swinging it around by its neck.  The complainant confronted the juveniles and attempted to make the juvenile give her the kitten; however the juvenile refused and continued walking to his residence down the street.  The officer arrived at the residence but the juveniles were not present; however the kitten was observed and appeared to be uninjured.  The officer explained the situation to the mother of one of the juveniles and a report of the incident was forwarded to Brown County Juvenile Probation for Cruelty to an Animal.

Sunday, September 2

*6:46am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Waco Street regarding an abandoned scooter.  The officer checked with several people in the neighborhood who are known to ride electric scooter chairs but was unable to locate the owner.  The chair was secured and placed in the evidence storage at the Brownwood Police Department.

Wednesday, September 5

*12:17pm-Brownwood Police received a report of criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant explained that there had been a dispute between themselves and a suspect in the 500 block of Cordell.  The suspect allegedly threw a room deodorant dispenser at the pickup, causing a dent in the front right quarter panel, just below the windshield post.

*3:23pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of Magnolia regarding the burglary of a vehicle during the overnight hours.

*3:29pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Good Shepherd regarding the theft of a bicycle.

*3:56pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Center regarding assault family violence.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her mother assaulted her and left the scene.  The complainant did have visible signs of injury to her face and left arm, the report states.  The suspect was not located at the time of the report and the complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges against her mother.

*4:22pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of 1st Street regarding the theft of a bicycle.

Thursday, September 6

*10:40am-Brownwood Police received a report of terroristic threat.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his ex-wife (common law) had threatened to kill him and kidnap their daughter while they were talking on the phone.  The incident was documented, the report states.

Friday, September 7

*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Joseph Ray Burns for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
