Tuesday, September 4
*3:49am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Melwood regarding drugs/narcotics. According to the report, the complainant advised police that she was offered narcotics by a male subject who lives with one of her friends. The complainant told police that after she told the male she wasn’t interested, the male subject called and threatened to kill her, the report states.
Wednesday, September 5
*12:18pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Lee Street regarding a burglary. According to the report, a flat screen television was stolen. The victim named a possible suspect who was located and detained for an interview. While being interviewed, the possible suspect named in the alleged theft, identified as 29-year-old Samuel Burgin, showed signs of intoxication, the report states. Burgin was arrested and charged with public intoxication. While being searched in connection with his arrest, Burgin was found to have a quantity of a controlled substance in his pocket, the report states. Burgin was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty grade 2 equal or less than 2 oz. No arrest has been made for the theft, which is under investigation.
*Brown County Sheriff’s office received a report of the burglary of a habitation on CR 334. According to the report, an Xbox 360 was taken from the game room of the residence sometime after Tuesday night. The complainant stated that the residence was usually kept unlocked and no suspect information was available, the report states. The Xbox was valued at approximately $100.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence on CR 270 in Zephyr regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the homeowner stated that sometime during the night someone had struck his fence, causing approximately $2500 to the fence and the electric gate to the property and then left the scene of the accident.
*Early Police arrested 33-year-old Quincey Mallery of Houston for failure to identify/give false or fictitious information, public intoxication and littering.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Barry Modawell for Assault family violence with previous conviction.
*Brownwood Police arrested 39-year-old Thomas Reed Stewart for Public Intoxication.
