A woman was arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated, after she rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection of 4th Street and Coggin Avenue Sunday evening. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital.
According to police reports, 39-year-old Michelle Indrizzo was charged with driving while intoxicated 2nd after the wreck which happened at approximately 5:50pm. Her Chevy Trailblazer rear-ended the vehicle in front of her which was at the stop sign on 4th Street and Coggin.
Indrizzo told witnesses on scene that she was on the way to Brookshire’s for some groceries when the accident occurred. CLICK HERE for the original story about the accident on Sunday with photos.

Friday, August 31
*8:25am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Belle Plain regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that 10-15 scrap mufflers and short pipe scrap were stolen from the business overnight.
*10:28am-Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Carnegie regarding forgery. According to the report, the complainant stated that two fraudulent checks had been cashed at three local businesses. All three businesses want to pursue charges and one was able to provide the suspect’s ID and license plate number, the report states. The investigation is ongoing.
*11:40am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Beaver Street regarding the theft of a bicycle.
*11:52am-Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding theft. According to the complainant, neighbors were taking water from her faucet without her permission and also stealing electricity through an extension cord which was plugged into an outside receptacle and ran to the neighbor’s home. Criminal charges are being pursued, the report states.
*2:46pm-Brownwood Police received a report of terroristic threat. According to the report, an officer made a call to the residence where the victim lives. The officer reported that a juvenile male spoke to him but did not wish to make a report. According to the officer, the juvenile and his girlfriend have a volatile relationship and that both have been physically violent with each other. The victim stated that he gets tired of being hit and sometimes defends himself in a physical way, the report states. He stated that as he was walking on Houston Street, a truck driven by a male he is acquainted with, who is also a friend of his girlfriend’s mother, pulled up and told him to get in. The driver then took him to the dead-end of a nearby road where the subject pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot him if the victim hit his girlfriend again, according to the report. Trying not to show fear, the victim told the suspect to just “shoot him if he was going to do it,” according to the report. The suspect did not shoot but took him back to his residence and then left the area. The victim did not wish to pursue charges and said that “it was all okay because he was alive and that was all that mattered.” The officer advised the victim that due to the seriousness of the incident, the threat to his life and the use of a gun in the incident, a report would be filed to document the incident for documentation purposes in the event of any future problems. As the officer was concluding the interview with the victim, another officer arrived at the residence because it had been determined that the juvenile had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
*3:24pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Commerce regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a purse was stolen between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm from the complainant’s vehicle.
*6:23pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding a burglary. According to the report, the complainant stated that she had been away from her apartment for two days and returned to find that the door had been kicked in. There was nothing missing, the report states.
*9:51pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding a fight in progress. According to the report, a female identified herself as the victim and identified an attacker who fled prior to officers’ arrival. No arrest had been made at the time of the report.
*10:33pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4000 block of Forrest Hill Drive regarding terroristic threat. According to the report, a female advised that within a 16 minute period, she received 5 phone calls from an unknown male subject who was calling from a private number and cursing her husband. The male also left two harassing voicemails on her phone, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary of a building. According to the report, four storage units in Blanket had been burglarized. Approximately $3000 worth of items were known to be stolen from the units at the time of the report.
Saturday, September 1
*4:13am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Dublin Drive regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated four tires, valued at $500, were damaged on her vehicle.
*8:28am-Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding criminal mischief equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*8:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3000 block of 1st Street regarding theft.
*8:38pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of E. Commerce, Classic Beverages, regarding theft.
*8:45pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Austin Avenue regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, the call led to the arrest of 48-year-old Christopher Eugene Fisher, 28-year-old Lyndon Harling III and 23-year-old Tashua Lenea Johnson, each charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 oz.
*9:16pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of N. Center Avenue regarding a burglary. According to the report, as the business was closing down; a friend of a clerk came in and stole the night’s deposit. The owner stated that the suspect was called and on his way to return the deposit and that they did not wish to prosecute; however they did wish for a criminal trespass warning to be issued to the suspect, the report states. The suspect returned the money which was counted and the owner verified that all $2610 was returned.
*10:22pm-Browwnood police responded to the 2100 block of Avenue B regarding a domestic disturbance. This call led to the arrest of 20-year-old Meghan Gray Turner for assault with injury family violence.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 49-year-old Allan Roy Thomas for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
Sunday, September 2
*1:34am-Brownwood Police were called to the area of 3rd and Avenue A regarding a male and female walking in the area and yelling, appearing to be arguing and using vulgar language. An officer made contact with the couple after he observed her walking in the roadway instead of the sidewalk which is a violation, the report states. According to the report, this call led to the arrest of the woman, identified as 22-year-old Rena Marie Merklinger, for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone.
*11:38am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Belle Plain regarding theft of $130 from the complainant’s wallet.
*2:07pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Lee regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject broke a window out of his van.
*2:41pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of 13th Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a juvenile had been struck in the head by a subject during an altercation. The subject, 38-year-old Toribio Torres, Sr., was placed under arrest for injury to a child.
*4:41pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of W. Commerce regarding terroristic threat. According to the report, the complainant stated that her soon to be ex-common-law spouse threatened to burn down her house and kill her family.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 21-year-old Bryan McMillan for public intoxication.
*Brownwood Police Department arrested 32-year-old Christopher Rice for public intoxication.
Monday, September 3
*8:00pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Booker regarding a follow up on a runaway juvenile. The female juvenile was confirmed to be a runaway from Brady and was released to the custody, care and control of her mother.
*8:39pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Avenue D regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, a male subject on scene had punched the glass door at the front of the residence during an argument and had injured himself in the process. As the male was being interviewed, he began to bleed heavily from his wrist and was transported to the hospital by Guardian EMS.
*11:20pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Maple regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that her niece had spit in her face. When the complainant attempted to call the police, the niece attempted to grab the phone, causing it to hang up, the report states. The victim was able to call the police back without interruption on her next attempt, the report states. The female suspect was arrested for assault offensive touch and interference with emergency phone call.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 54-year-old Christopher Kovatsi of Forney for driving while intoxicated.
Tuesday, September 4
*12:47am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Avenue B regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a male subject was pushed out of the front door by his ex-girlfriend, which resulted in his hitting the door and causing a small cut to the male subject’s left hand, and pain in his right elbow. The male’s injuries were treated on scene by Guardian EMS.
*4:49am-Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Elizabeth regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that his house, vehicle and sidewalks had been spray painted with vulgar words and wavy lines. A possible suspect was identified; however the incident is pending further investigation, the report states.
