Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, September 30, 2011.

Wednesday, September 28

* 9:44am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Main Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that numerous metal items were taken including copper wire.  An investigation of theft greater than $1500 and less than $20,000 was started.

*4:03pm-Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run accident in the area of Baker and Fisk Avenue.  Dispatch advised the responding officer that an 18-wheeler truck had hit a parked vehicle.   The 18-wheeler was described to the officer and its approximate location given.  When the officer made contact with the driver, he asked if the driver was aware of the accident and he was not, according to the report.  A check of the 18-wheeler was made and only old damage with rust on it was found, the report states.

Witnesses on scene only heard the accident and then saw the truck when they looked out to see what happened.  The owner of the damaged vehicle stated that she had parked the vehicle 4 feet from the corner of Baker and Fisk while she went into Ranger Beauty College.  The vehicle had a flat tire, broken driver’s side window, and damage to the driver’s door that continued to the front left quarter panel.

Thursday, September 29

*7:46am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1800 block of Waco Street regarding an unwanted person.  Officers met with an intoxicated person, identified as 42-year-old Chad William Beasley who had a criminal trespass warning for that property.  Beasley was arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass.

*9:59am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue which had been found by an employee on the ground outside the hospital, the report states.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*4:49pm-Brownwood Police met with the manager of the Goodwill Store regarding ammunition that he wished to be destroyed.  According to the report, the ammunition was donated to the store; however, the store is not allowed to sell this product and the manager requested to leave the ammunition with police to be destroyed.  The ammunition was placed in the BPD evidence room to be destroyed.

*6:14pm-Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of 7th Street. Investigation showed that the driver, Larry David Hopkins, had a suspended driver’s license with surcharge due and no insurance.  Hopkins was placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid Surcharge Due No Insurance.

*8:08pm-Brownwood Police were called to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart regarding a female shoplifter that was being detained.  The 17-year-old female was issued a citation for Theft Less than $50 and the property returned to the store.

Friday, September 30

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 55-year-old Phillip Dwayne Bond for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

* Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old David E. Tucknott for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
