According to Brownwood Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller, members of the Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office executed a search and arrest warrant in the 2100 block of Center Avenue Wednesday evening, netting two arrests and seizure of methamphetamine and marijuana.

At 6:10 BPD and BCSO officers executed the warrant, which is the culmination of an extensive investigation by the Brownwood Police Department Narcotics Office in the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine in our community according to officials.

 

At this location, officers seized over 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine and over 1 ounce of suspected marijuana.  Suspects arrested at the scene included 41-year-old Danny Ray Peel of Robstown, Texas & 39-year-old Tracie Gail Reed of Brownwood who attempted to run out the back door to escape but were met by waiting officers according Fuller.  Peel and Reed were both charged with Evading Arrest/Detention, Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Grade 1, Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz.  The investigation continues and additional arrests are expected.

*11:05am-Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of 3rd Street regarding found property.  According to the report, an employee of King’s Grocery Store found a silver boy’s Mongoose bicycle which was concealed in some bushes behind the building.  The bicycle was taken to the BPD impound until its owner can properly identify and claim it.

Wednesday, September 28

*11:21am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of Stephen F. Austin and Drisco Drive regarding a rolling domestic disturbance.  According to the report, a female was walking and the male was driving a vehicle following her.  The officer spoke with both parties who each stated that they were arguing, the report states.  The two were separated and sent on their own ways.

*12:12pm-A Brownwood Police officer while on duty at Brownwood High School noticed several students walking over to a pickup which had pulled into the south parking lot of BHS and parked.  According to the report, the officer observed the pickup from the cafeteria noting its occupants, three male subjects who were former students but no longer enrolled at BHS.  One of the three was known to the officer, identified as 18-year-old Adrian Cortez, because the officer had written a trespass warning to Cortez previously for all BISD properties the report states.  Cortez was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass.

*12:54pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Calvert Road regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated he believed that one of the nurses that attends him during the night may have stolen $200 from his wallet while he was sleeping.  A possible subject has been identified and the incident is being investigated, the report states.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
