Thursday, September 25

*3:00 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2200 block of Coggin Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.

Friday, September 26

*11:07 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Greenleaf regarding the possible burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the house had been entered; however, the complainant was not sure at the time if anything was missing.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*1:45 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Fisk Street regarding forgery.  According to the report, the subject provided a description of a possible suspect in reference to the forgery which at that time had not been reported to the police department by the account holder.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*8:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the intersection of 5th Street and Avenue A regarding an assault with serious bodily injury.  According to the report, the victim spoke with officers and identified 24-year-old Royce Phillips of Brownwood as the suspect.  Phillips was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault causes bodily injury and theft.  Phillips was being held in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $25,000 as of Monday morning.

*10:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Avenue B regarding a sexual assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her step daughter had been sexually assaulted by a relative.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*42-year-old Daryle Eugene Dumas of Early turned himself in on a warrant related to criminal trespass.

*Brownwood Police arrested 26-year-old Bethany Hays of Brownwood for public intoxication.

*31-year-old Jerry Allen Leonard of Brownwood was arrested on a Mills County warrant related to possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and Brown County warrants related to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon,  and surety withdrawals related to evading arrest detention.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Andrea L. McElhaney of Ft. Worth on a warrant related to failure to appear/driving while intoxicated and on a surety withdrawal related to driving while intoxicated.

*Brownwood Police arrested 19-year-old Allison Optenburg of Lewisville on a surety withdrawal related to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.

Saturday, September 27

*1:23 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Austin Avenue regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle had been sideswiped by another vehicle while crossing the Bill Monroe Overpass on Austin Avenue.  The complainant attempted to obtain a license plate; however, the number was determined to be invalid.

*1:53 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence on 4th Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter had assaulted her and then left the residence.

*9:45 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1300 block of Austin Avenue regarding counterfeit money.  According to the report, counterfeit money was discovered in the business’s morning deposit.  The counterfeit money was collected and turned over to police and an investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*11:29 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Center Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, a Nextbook tablet was stolen.

*1:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding theft. According to the report, two suspects who had been observed shoplifting were caught on surveillance video.  One of the suspects was positively identified and the case is pending further investigation, the report states.

*4:11 PM – Brownwood Police spoke via telephone with an anonymous complainant regarding theft.  According to the report, information regarding possible suspects involved in the theft of copper was given.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*4:15 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Avenue B regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant advised that she had allowed a friend to borrow a television and now the friend was refusing to return it but wanted to trade it for prescription drugs.

*5:10 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Coventry Circle regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject damaged her company car and mailbox sometime during the night.

*5:26 PM –Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of South Broadway regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject had been stealing scrap automotive parts for several weeks.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*10:11 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding a suspicious person.  According to the report, the responding officer spoke with a female who was passed out on a bench in the parking lot.  This call led to the arrest of Jessica Medcalf for criminal trespass, possession/use inhale/ingest volatile chemical, theft equal or greater than $500 less than $1500 and escape while arrested/confined.  Items stolen included groceries, air duster, crazy glue, and household items, the report states.

*10:12 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Main Street, Kroger’s grocery store.  This call led to the arrest of 55-year-old Chester Williams of Blanket for public intoxication.

Sunday, September 28

*4:09 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a suspicious person.  According to the report, a complainant stated that a man had fallen asleep at one of the tables with his children and that she could smell alcohol on the man.  The investigation was continuing at the time of the report.

*10:19 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence on Austin Avenue regarding a juvenile problem.  According to the report, a report for assault with injury family violence by strangulation and assault with injury family violence 2 or more times within the last 12 months was being investigated.

*1:20 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant reported that an unknown subject had shot holes in the windows of his residence with a pellet gun.  A possible suspect was named and further investigation is pending, the report states.

*2:19 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Commerce regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, several suspects had damaged a room in a local hotel at the location.  The investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*6:39 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Fisk Street regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, a female had allowed a male subject to stay at her apartment for a few days and he was now refusing to leave, the report states.  A criminal trespass warning was issued to the male for the female’s apartment.

*6:53 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2300 block of 14th Street regarding an unwanted subject.  According to the report, a trespass warning was issued upon the complainant’s request to a female subject.

*7:40 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Belle Plain regarding a stolen bicycle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown suspect had stolen the bicycle within the past three days.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Brandon Lee Hobbs of Rising Star for unauthorized use of a vehicle.

*55-year-old Chester Noland Williams of Blanket turned himself in on a warrant related to public intoxication.

Monday, September 29

*12:21 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1000 block Poindexter Street regarding a suspicious person.  This call led to the arrest of 17-year-old Raistlin Bailey Ibarra of Brownwood for a Brown County warrant related to assault causes bodily injury.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Eric Edward Babcock on a warrant related to assault family violence.

*27-year-old Delories Barnett was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, possession of a dangerous drug, failure to identify, and on warrants related to burglary of a habitation and failure to appear.
