Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

Monday, September 26

* 4:05pm-Brownwood Police were called to a doctor’s office in the 2900 block of Coggin Avenue where they received a report of possible injury to an elderly person.  According to the report, the alleged offense occurred at a different location approximately three weeks prior.  A suspect has been named; however no arrest has been made and the investigation is continuing.

Tuesday, September 27

*2:12pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding Forgery/Counterfeiting.  The store manager reported to police that a clerk had cashed a check in the amount of $391.22 and he believes it may have been counterfeit.  A check of the driver’s license on the check showed the driver’s license to be invalid.  At the time of the report, no suspect information was available.

 

*2:58pm-Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Brownwood Police Department regarding theft.  The complainant explained that he resides in the 100 block of Sharon and owns the adjacent property to the residence, which is inside the city limits.  According to the report, a tractor and three point plow (valued at approximately $200) were stolen from the property.

*4:31pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of Riverside Drive regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  The complainant stated that his pickup had been broken into and an unknown subject stole a softball bag with assorted softball equipment valued at approximately $1000 from inside of the pickup.

*6:54pm-Brownowod Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center who stated that her ex-boyfriend had stolen her wedding rings and pawned them.  She explained that her husband was deceased and she kept the rings for sentimental reasons and had worn the rings on a necklace on their anniversary and then placed them beside her jewelry box afterward, the report states.  Approximately a week later, she noticed them missing and asked her then boyfriend about the rings.  According to the report, the suspect stated that he had placed them into a safe box, his story changed several times before he finally admitted to stealing the rings and pawning them along with two guns for $1100.  When he returned to the pawn shop to reclaim the rings, they were gone according to the report.  The complainant wishes to pursue charges for the offense.

*7:07pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Brazos Street regarding the burglary of a building.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject had broken into a storage building and stole several pieces of sheet metal.  An investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, September 28

*12:40am-Brownwood Police responded to the report of an assault in the 3700 block of Savoy.  According to the report, officers found that two females, 27-years-old and 18-years-old, were involved in an altercation.  After an investigation, both parties declined to pursue charges.

*1:50am-Two Brownwood Police officers were speaking in the parking lot of Walgreen’s, 200 W. Commerce, when one of them noticed the security lights at Hastings, 600 N. Fisk, to activate.  According to the report, an unknown subject was observed by the officer running east toward Fisk Avenue down the front sidewalk of the business.  Officers attempted to locate the suspect; however were unsuccessful.  Video surveillance from the store led to the description of the suspect as being a younger Hispanic or dark complected White male wearing gray hoodie style jacket and dark jeans, the report states.  Video showed the suspect throwing a rock through one of the glass exit doors and entering the business, then exiting the same place when the security lights were activated.  No property was taken during the offense; however an investigation is ongoing.

*4:32am-Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of W. Commerce, the Stripes Convenience Store, regarding an unwanted subject.  According to the report, the complainant stated a Hispanic male wearing a Hawaiian shirt would not leave the business and was harassing customers at the gas pumps.  Officers made contact with the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Rudolfo Reyna and an investigation led to his arrest for Criminal Trespass.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
