Monday, September 23
*9:44 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, a woman reported that while at a male acquaintance’s house, she let him borrow her iPhone around 11:00 p.m., and that after being gone for several hours, he returned and told her that he was attacked and that her phone was taken. The woman stated that she felt the male was lying and that her phone was equipped with GPS. The next day, she came to the Brownwood Police Department with her iPad and attempted to “ping” the phone, however she had not downloaded the application necessary to locate the phone, the report states. The officer then contacted the woman’s phone provider and was able to have the phone “pinged” with their equipment, according to the report. The phone was located on a property in Bangs which belonged to the complainant, the report states. When she was contacted to tell her where the phone was located, she seemed uninterested the officer stated in the report. How the phone ended up on the woman’s property was unknown, and because it was on her property and located, the officer cleared the incident.

*7:44 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 4th Street regarding the theft of a bicycle.*10:18 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3000 block of 1st Street regarding theft. According to the report, the owner of a rent house stated that after evicting the tenant, she noted a PlayStation 3 was missing from the living room of the residence. The officer noted that several electronic items were still inside the residence and felt the theft was specific and personal instead of a random crime, the report states. The owner of the house stated that the previous tenant was not happy about being evicted and that he had owned a PlayStation but that he had to pawn his recently to “catch up on his bail bond,” according to the report. The officer contacted the suspect/previous tenant who at first denied taking the gaming system; however later the officer received a call from the owner of the home who stated that the suspect had admitted to pawning her PlayStation 3 and that they were at an undisclosed local pawn shop to retrieve the gaming system, the report states.
*11:41 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Market Place Blvd. for an expired motor vehicle inspection. According to the report, dispatch advised that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Fort Worth. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Dalia Delatorre, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
*Brownwood City Marshal arrested 36-year-old Fredrick Wayne Benson on warrants related to expired driver’s license and failure to appear.
*Brownwood Police arrested 22-year-old Joe Glen Duncan on a warrant related to assault family violence.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Christopher Ryan Fell on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*29-year-old Tabbatha Kay Gossett turned herself in on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old Norman Lee Hartzell, Jr. of Blanket on warrants related to failure to register and theft.
*31-year-old Marissa Dawn Hicks of Early turned herself in on a warrant related to assault family violence.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Benjamin Cordell Holmes of Waco on a Panola County warrant related to theft of property by check.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Tyler Lee Nichols for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 29-year-old April Coletta Phillips on a warrant related to expired motor vehicle inspection.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Marcus Obrian Reese on a warrant for burglary of a building.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Casey Douglas Simpson of May on a warrant related to failure to appear/motion to revoke/driving while license invalid/with previous conviction.
*Brownwood City Marshal arrested 33-year-old Jennifer Leann Tobias on warrants related to no seat belt and violate promise to appear.
