Monday, September 21

*1:09 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  An investigation led to the suspect being issued a citation for theft less than $100.

Tuesday, September 22

*11:47 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 10th Street regarding an assault.  An investigation led to the arrest of Joe Stevens for assault causing bodily injury family violence, according to the report.

*12:20 PM – Brownwood Police met a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding harassment.

*12:50 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, a female suspect was observed concealing numerous DVDs from the electronics department.  The female paid for two drinks at the self check-out but did not pay for the DVDs which were hidden in a backpack, the report states.  After an asset protection employee stopped the female and then detained her, she admitted stealing the merchandise, according to police.  The female was issued a citation for theft of property less than $99.00.

*3:51 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft.  According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 51-year-old Matrinidad Mares Lopez of Blanket for theft of property greater than $100 less than $750.

*5:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Belmeade regarding identity theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her daughter works at a local grocery store which pays her through a debit card account.  On Saturday, September 19th, she had attempted to purchase items with her card and it was declined, the report states.  When she checked her account balance, $1479 had been stolen from her account through purchases made in Bryan and Caldwell, Texas; however, the daughter had not traveled to those cities and had not approved the transactions on the account, according to the report.  The card was cancelled and the complainant’s daughter wished to pursue criminal charges if a suspect(s) can be identified, the report states.

*8:13 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, $44 worth of merchandise was stolen from the business.  A suspect has been identified and the complainant wished to pursue charges, the report states.

*9:53 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Oakland Drive regarding harassment.  According to the report, an investigation is ongoing.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 28-year-old Colin Garrett Smith of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*45-year-old Joe William Stephens was arrested for assault causes bodily injury.

Wednesday, September 23

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Zachary Cole Hager of Early for unlawful carrying weapon and driving while intoxicated/open container.

*Brownwood Police arrested 49-year-old Phillip Lloyd Lemmons of Brownwood on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/burglary of a habitation.  Lemmons was later released on $75,000 bond.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Linley Rachelle Rinehart of Brownwood on warrants related to possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, tamper with or fabricate physical evidence, and theft of property.  Rinehart was being held in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $25,000 as of Wednesday morning.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Casey Brieghann Tyson of Brownwood on warrants related to motion to adjudicate/engage in organized criminal activity, assault causes bodily injury family violence and a surety withdrawal/driving while intoxicated.
