Thursday, September 19
*6:37 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on County Road 136 regarding criminal mischief. The complainant stated that a male acquaintance had put his personal belongings outside on a trailer in the rain, causing $600 dollars worth of damage to a mattress and box springs, the report states. No contact was made with the suspect, according to the report.
Friday, September 20
*10:12 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of W. Commerce Street, Rent-A-Center, regarding theft. According to the report, the manager of the business reported that two laptop computers were stolen. Suspects were named according to the report. During this call, an employee with the business reported that a male subject rented property and was refusing to pay for the property or return it back to the business. An active report for hindering a secured creditor was generated.
*10:35 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Durham Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that a gasoline canister was stolen off of the front porch of the residence. The canister was located in the bed of the complainant’s pickup.
*2:21 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft. According to the report, a female attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise she had concealed in a bag while inside the store. 30-year-old Amber Nicole Bergman Allen was arrested for theft less than $50 enhanced.
*5:48 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Slayden Street regarding theft. According to the report, a graphing calculator that belonged to the complainant’s daughter had been stolen from Brownwood High School on September 17th around noon. The complainant was instructed to contact the BHS Student Resource Officer on Monday, September 23 for a follow-up investigation, the report states.
*10:36 PM – A Brownwood police officer, while in the 900 block of Vine Street, observed a male subject purchase alcohol for a minor and deliver it to him. According to the report, upon further investigation, the subject who purchased the alcohol was found to be in possession of a fraudulent identification. 17-year-old Stuart Walker Peters of Priddy was arrested for furnishing alcohol to a minor and misrepresentation of age by a minor, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary on County Road 497. According to the report, the complainant stated some items were missing from a rent house. A suspect was named, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 63-year-old Robert Danner of May for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Stevie Stembridge of Coleman on warrants for failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old Gregory Dane Stewart of Blanket on warrants related to driving while license invalid; violate promise to appear and for no valid inspection.
Saturday, September 21
*12:03 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Congress Street regarding a citizens’ dispute. According to the report, the suspect, 39-year-old Tommy Gene Williford of Dublin was arrested for the offense of disorderly conduct by loud and profane language in a public area of 400 Congress Street.
*12:54 AM – A Brownwood Police officer who was in the concert area of the Brownwood Reunion Celebration, the 600 block of Depot Street, made an arrest regarding public intoxication. According to the report, a female was intoxicated and had no place to go after the concert. The female was identified as 26-year-old Shyla Garza of Abilene. The report states that Garza came to the concert with friends and had planned to stay in Brownwood overnight, but that she had gotten separated from them and her cell phone battery was dead. The officer explained to Garza that she was being arrested for public intoxication and that the arrest was because she could not be released on her own because she might fall in front of a car or be taken off of the streets by someone intending to harm her, and that the arrest was the only alternative left for her situation, according to the report.
*9:15 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Roanoke Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that her brother pushed her while he brandished a large stick in his hand. The subject, 54-year-old Jimmy Wayne Goodwin, admitted to the assault and was arrested, the report states. Goodwin was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Goodwin was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*12:29 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 351. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone stole a battery from his RV and a game camera which was facing his RV.
*7:00 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding a repossessed vehicle. According to the report, a female complainant reported that a vehicle she had purchased had been “illegally repossessed” by the seller.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hwy 279 which resulted in the arrest of the passenger, 42-year-old Michael Homer Reyna of Bangs for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and possession of marijuana.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a turn signal violation. This stop led to the arrest of 21-year-old Dustin Lee McFarland for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of a motor vehicle. According to the report, a 1994 GMC pickup had been taken from a garage located at Belfast. The vehicle was entered as stolen, the report states.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 36-year-old Michael Chad Hatchett of Zephyr for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.
Sunday, September 22
*2:45 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the burglary occurred at a south Brownwood business in the early morning hours of September 22nd. The incident is under investigation, the report states.
*6:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 1st Street regarding issuing a criminal trespass warning to a 37-year-old male. According to the report, the complainant did not want the subject on the property. The male was contacted and issued a criminal trespass warning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on O’Neal Street regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, this call led to a subject being taken into custody for assault family violence; however no arrest was made because the subject was possibly having a seizure. Guardian EMS was called to the scene and the subject was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment, the report states.
*Kendall County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Anthony Aguirre of Brownwood on several Brown County warrants related to failure to appear/assault against a public servant; unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; resist arrest, search or transport; evading arrest/detention; theft of property equal or greater than $500 less than $1000; and two counts of theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
*Bangs Police arrested 23-year-old Lance Lynn Robertson of May on two Bangs Municipal Court warrants related to fail to display driver’s license and failure to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Michael Scott Rogers for tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 28-year-old Jade Schuster of Comanche for driving while intoxicated.
*Brownwood Police arrested 55-year-old Sheryl Dawn Scott of May for theft of property equal or greater than $50 less than $500.
Monday, September 23
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Melissa Atkinson of Clyde for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1, less than 1 gram and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams.
