Law Enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, September 23, 2010

Tuesday, September 21

*Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a hit and run accident which occurred at 11:30am in the 1000 block of Coggin Avenue.  According to the complainant, both cars involved in an accident pulled into a parking lot, and the other driver asked if the victim needed medical attention.  When the complainant told the man that she was okay, he left the accident scene without exchanging insurance information the report states.  The investigation is continuing.

Wednesday, September 22

*9:42pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of S Hwy 377 regarding a fight in progress.  According to the report, the suspects were located who were identified as 22-year-old Julie Marie Hinojosa and 18-year-old Richard Lyle Sanchez.   Hinojosa was arrested for Criminal Mischief.  Sanchez faces charges of Criminal Mischief and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

*10:59-Brownwood Police responded to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding an unwanted person.  Upon the officer’s arrival, a male subject drinking a beer was knocking on the complainant’s door.  Officers attempted to speak with the subject but he refused to identify and would not comply with the officer’s commands the report states.  The male, later identified as 37-year-old Thomas Reed Stewart, was slurring his speech and having difficulty standing according to police.  Stewart was arrested for Public Intoxication.

*5:47pm-Brownwood Officers were called to the 1600 block of Coggin in reference to unwanted persons.  According to the report, two BPD officers  were already on scene when a third officer arrived.  Four people were identified and issued Trespass Warnings for the residence at the property owner’s request.

*5:59pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Citizen’s National Bank inside of Wal-Mart.  Upon arrival, a bank teller relinquished to officers a counterfeit $100 bill which was processed into evidence at BPD the report states.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

 *6:12pm-A female came to Law Enforcement Center to report that she had been assaulted a few days prior.  According to the report, suspect information was provided and an assault family violence case was filed.

*6:53pm-A female came to Law Enforcement Center to report a case of fraud.  According to the report, she stated that she had placed a down payment on a vehicle located out of state that had been listed for sale online.  The seller has apparently used a false identity making suspect information limited at the time of the report.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Roxanne Leigh Schaefer of Early on charges of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

*36-year-old Michael Shane Miller was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, less than 2oz.

*Early Police arrested 38-year-old Jackie Lee Haley, Jr. of Breckenridge  for displaying an expired registration, failure to maintain financial responsibility, no driver’s license and also for an outstanding warrant from Breckenridge.

All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
