LECSmBrownwood Police are investigating a weekend home invasion in north Brownwood.  According to police, a burglary in progress was called in Sunday afternoon, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Dispatch had received a call from a third party stating that a juvenile who was alone at the home had texted him stating that someone had broken into the home.

The officers entered the home and found a juvenile male subject inside the home sitting in an office chair in the back of the house, with a cloth bag over his head and his feet bound with the cord of a hairdryer and his hands tied behind him with an iPhone charging cord, according to the report.

In an interview with the victim, he stated that he had been in his bedroom when he heard noises coming from inside the house and opened the door to see a male subject in a long sleeve black shirt wearing a mask standing at the doorway, the report states.  The suspect forced the victim back into the bedroom and spoke to him in an Asian language, informing him not to make any noise or movements or he would be harmed, according to the report. The suspect also asked the victim “where’s the money?” which the victim was not aware of, the report states.

Investigation determined that several suspects had entered the home and had rummaged through some areas of the residence, the report states.  The victim stated that after he felt all the suspects had left the home, he was able to use an iPad which was near him to text his uncle for help at approximately 12:45 a.m. according to the report.

Valuable property including cash and electronics were located inside the home and appeared to have not been disturbed, according to the report.

The officers began an investigation which is ongoing, and no arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon, according to police.

*4:59 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the victim’s vehicle was struck while she was inside the store.

Wednesday, September 17

*8:15 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop for speeding on W. Hall Street in Bangs.  According to the report, the driver Joe Robert Robles was arrested during the stop for an outstanding Bexar County warrant and was also charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than 4grams less than 200 grams in a drug free zone (methamphetamine) and unlawful carrying of a weapon (a club).

Friday, September 19

*9:52 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding forgery of a Medicaid check.  According to the report, the check was in the amount of more than $600.

*11:30 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding forgery.  According to the report, the officer made contact with a female and received copies of four returned checks that were forged.

*2:47 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2200 block of Avenue E regarding theft equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.

*9:54 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of 7th Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the victim stated that another female at the residence had assaulted her because she asked her to leave.  The two females were transported to the hospital and charges are being pursued, the report states.

*7:18 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Duke Street and Austin Avenue regarding failure to stop at a designated point in an intersection of W. Commerce and Austin Avenue.  According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 48-year-old Irene Gomez Walls of Brownwood for possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Rosemary Caballero of Bangs on warrants related to driving with expired license and violate promise to appear.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Jimmy Lee Hallum of Brownwood on a warrant related to a probation violation/criminal mischief.

*Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Luis Miguel Mejia of Brownwood on warrants related to criminal trespass and assault family violence.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Alvin Morant of Colorado Springs, Colorado on a warrant related to failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance penalty.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 42-year-old Wanda Ann Lawhon Roe of Abilene on a warrant related to failure to appear/motion to set aside/theft by check.

*Brownwood Police arrested 30-year-old Vanessa Stephens of Brady on a parole violation.

*51-year-old Virgil Stevens of Brownwood turned himself in on a warrant related to theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500 by check.

Saturday, September 20

*12:00 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Adams Street regarding an abandoned infant child.  According t the report, during an investigation, the mother of the child returned to the scene and was identified.  Child Protective Services was called to the scene to assist with the investigation, the report states.

*12:07 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1600 block of Avenue A regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that within the last two weeks someone had broken into his rent house and stole his tools, the report states.  The complainant wishes to pursue charges against the suspect.

*12:16 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop on N. Hwy 279 on a blue minivan for speeding.  According to the report, the driver, identified as 27-year-old Price Hal Thompson of Midland, during the roadside interview, consented to a search of the vehicle.  During the consent search, the deputy located 6 Hydrocodone tablets in the cup holder of the vehicle and Thompson was subsequently arrested for possession of controlled substance penalty group 3, less than 28 grams, the deputy reported.  The Hydrocodone tablets weighed a total of 2.6 grams, without packaging, the report states.

*7:01 AM – A Brownwood Police officer was on patrol in the 1800 block of 10th Street when he located a vehicle with a damaged window.  The owner was contacted and a report was made for criminal mischief, according to police.

*9:22 AM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Austin Avenue regarding a State Trooper requiring assistance.  According to the report, the trooper was conducting an investigation when he detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence.  Further investigation led to three subjects being issued citations for possession of drug paraphernalia.

*10:22 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of 3rd Street regarding an assault.

*1:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Vincent Street regarding an assault.

*1:35 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant regarding theft.  According to the report, the juvenile suspect is known.

*3:33 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding trespassing.  According to the report, the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Elisha Leann Dobbins of Brownwood, was in violation of criminal trespass warnings.  Dobbins was subsequently arrested for criminal trespass.

*3:54 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Baker Street regarding harassment.

*6:42 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Avenue E regarding an assault.  Dispatch advised officers that the suspect had fled the scene.  According to the report, during an investigation the suspect was located and the victim was found to have sustained a broken collar bone and a loss of multiple teeth.  The suspect, who is also the victim’s roommate, 41-year-old James Earl Nickerson of Brownwood was arrested for aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury-family member.

*Brownwood Police arrested 20-year-old Richard Austin Ammons of Brownwood on a warrant related to consumption of alcohol by minor 3rd enhanced.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Payden Blaine Blackburn of Brownwood on warrants related to violate promise to appear, no driver’s license and no liability insurance.

*Brownwood Police arrested 25-year-old Courtney Link of Tallahasse, Florida for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 less than 1 gram.

*Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Brent Phillips of Lynnhaven Florida for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 less than 1 gram and failure to identify giving false/fictitious information.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Joseph Walls Barbieri of Euharley, Georgia for possession of a controlled substance penalty group  2 greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Sunday, September 21

*1:23 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Brady Avenue.  According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 77-year-old Catherine Marie Gomez of Bangs for driving while intoxicated.

*3:18 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Elizabeth Drive due to the officer’s prior knowledge that the driver, identified as 24-year-old Jacoby Clint Martinez of Brownwood having an invalid driver’s license.  Martinez arrested on August 14th by the same officer for driving while license invalid with previous conviction and was again arrested this date for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

*8:30 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Melwood Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.

*4:10 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Avenue C regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that unknown suspects had broken into his home and had taken his personal property.

*4:16 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center regarding an assault.  According to the report, the female stated that her ex-husband had thrown her into a window.  The female had a severe laceration on her left forearm and multiple stitches, the report states.

*4:22 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the burglary of a habitation in the 1600 block of Avenue D.

*7:05 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Walmart regarding criminal trespass.  According to the report, a female subject, identified as 24-year-old Kalista Kay Sudderth of Brownwood was found to have an active criminal trespass warning and was subsequently arrested for the offense of criminal trespass.

*11:00 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding down Commerce in the city limits of Brownwood. According to the report, the driver 19-year-old Nash Baughn was visibly nervous, sweating and shaking, as the deputy advised him of his violation. Baughn denied consent for the deputy to search the vehicle, but The officer could see the top of a glass bong sticking up in the floorboard, directly behind Baughn and a probable cause search was made of the vehicle, the report states.  The deputy located a red bag which held a glass jar containing 10g of Marijuana, a clear and blue tool used to snort cocaine with a white powdery residue that tested positive for the presence of Cocaine, and a glass pipe with residue used to smoke hash oil, which is THC extract from Marijuana, according to the deputy’s report.  A glass bowl along with a green bottle containing 2.4g of Marijuana, was located in the trunk, the report states.  Baughn was transported to the Brown Count Jail, where he was booked in on charges of possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana equal or greater than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.  The vehicle was brought back to the Sheriff’s Office for seizure procedures to be started on the vehicle.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 34-year-old Joshua Ryan Daniell of Early on warrants related to display expired registration and violate promise to appear.

*Brownwood Police arrested 40-year-old April Otero of Brownwood for parent contributing to nonattendance and failure to appear.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Nehemiah Perkins of Midland on warrants related to failure to appear/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and failure to appear/possession of a dangerous drug.

Monday, September 22

*1:13 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Booker Street.  According to the report, during the stop methamphetamine was located, resulting in the arrest of 49-year-old Troy Glaeske of Brownwood and 48-year-old Raenita Lee Sawyer Smith of Early for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram.
