Tuesday, September 17
*6:36 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of 8th Street regarding criminal trespass. According to the report, the complainant stated that a Hispanic female who had been issued a criminal trespass warning for the property had entered onto the property. The suspect left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.
Wednesday, September 18
*1:46 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was advised by the Brady Police Department that a phone call had been received from a male stating he had been kidnapped and that the suspect had a gun, according to Brown County Sheriff’s officials.
According to the report, the deputy was able to locate a vehicle matching the description given of the suspect vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated on FM 586 East in Brown County. Two deputies detained the passenger and the driver. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Juan Carlos Gonzalez Avila of Arlington admitted to taking the passenger’s cell phone and throwing it out the window when the passenger was attempting to call the police. The passenger was identified as 27-year-old Johnathan David Tsuchiya of Euless, Texas.
After an investigation, Avila was arrested for Interfere with emergency call and a U.S. Marshal’s warrant for distribution of methamphetamine; Tsuchiya was also arrested for false alarm or report.
*3:02 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. someone entered his home and took a home game system and games. A possible suspect was named; however, at the time of the report, could not be located, the report states. The incident is pending further investigation.*10:40 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1100 block of W. Commerce Street regarding a stolen vehicle. According to the report, dispatch advised the officer that the caller who is a tow truck driver had just towed a 2000 model green van that had come back as stolen. The vehicle was found to have been stolen out of Williamson County, so the proper agency was notified, the report states.
* 1:04 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Melwood, Brownwood Iron and Metal, regarding suspicious activity. According to the report, a male subject was lying down in the parking lot. An officer arrived to find the male, identified as 52-year-old Freddie Delvin Thomas, to be intoxicated to the point he was a danger to himself and others, the report states. This call led to the arrest of Thomas for public intoxication.
*8:44 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant and his common-law spouse had gotten into a physical altercation.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 271 in Brown County to the report of animal cruelty. The deputy located approximately 10 horses which were extremely thin to the point that ribs, hip bones and spin could easily be seen, the report states. The owners were contacted and they advised that they were trying to sell the horses due to their poor condition, according to the report. The deputy did observe water and hay on the property for the horses to eat, the report states.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Roger Lee Sparks of Lometa on a Runnels County warrant related to theft by check.
Thursday, September 19
*12:32 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of LaMonte regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the officer arrived to find a female subject standing in the middle of the road with a baseball bat. The officer directed the female to drop the bat and she complied, stating that her husband had struck and strangled her, the report states. She explained that she had the bat for self defense, according to the report. After speaking to the husband, he stated that his wife had physically attacked him and that he was acting in self defense, the officer reported. Two witnesses were also interviewed by the officer and after the investigation, 35-year-old Patricia Ann Martinez was arrested for aggravated assault family violence with weapon.
