Law enforcement arrests and reports released September 19, 2011.

Friday, September 16

*6:08am-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to an area south of Brownwood regarding illegal dumping.  According to the report, a large pile of shingles had been dumped along the side of the roadway.

*9:45am-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was informed of a possible theft of a 5-year-old Black Limousine bull.  The bull has a JWF brand on its left hip and weighs approximately 1800-2000 lbs.  According to the report, the bull has been missing for two weeks and the owner has not been able to locate it on their property.

*12:54pm-A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence regarding theft.  The complainant reported that an air conditioning unit had been stolen from a house they owned while it was vacant and for sale, the report states.  Other than the unit being stolen out of the wall, no other damage was noted.

*2:30pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of Chandler Street and S. Greenleaf regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown suspect(s) broke the left driver side mirror on her pick-up.  No suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*10:49pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 3900 block of Countryside Drive in reference to criminal mischief.  According to the report, the homeowner reported that an unknown person(s) threw eggs at her house and vehicle.  No suspects could be determined at the time of the report.

Saturday, September 17

*1:59am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Riverside Drive, a local hotel, in reference to a report of disorderly conduct.  According to the report, dispatch notified the officer that an intoxicated male, later identified as 42-year-old Cory Paul Byers, was in the front lobby being belligerent.  Byers was arrested for Public Intoxication.

*3:15pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart in reference to a female, identified as 60-year-old Vickie Hallmark of Early, who was being detained for shoplifting.  According to the report, Hallmark had taken $389.70 of various merchandise past the last point of sale and was arrested for Theft greater than $50 less than $500.

*1:14pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Avenue K, regarding criminal mischief.   The complainant showed officers a scratch on her vehicle and identified a possible suspect.

*8:32pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, the loss prevention officer of the store observed Angelica Magna steal several items of clothing totaling $58.36.  Magna was arrested for Theft greater than $50 and less than $500. 

*9:39pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, a female suspect was observed by loss prevention stealing $29.74 in merchandise.  The suspect was issued a citation for theft less than $50, a class C misdemeanor.

*10:24pm-A Brownwood Police officer, while running stationary radar in the 1100 block of Austin Avenue, observed an unknown white female, later identified as 45-year-old Kaylean Mullings of Goldthwaite, walking southbound toward his location on the Bill Monroe Overpass.  Mullings was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for Public Intoxication.

*Shortly before 10:30pm- While running stationary radar in the 1100 block of Austin Avenue, a Brownwood Police officer observed a white Ford Escape speeding, 70mph in a 40mph zone, driving northbound past his location.  The driver, identified as 23-year-old Matthew Warren of Little Elm, was the only occupant of the vehicle.  After investigation, Warren was determined to be intoxicated and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or more.

*11:10pm-Brownwood Police responded to 3rd Street and Avenue C in reference to a one vehicle crash.  Upon arrival, officers were told that the driver of the vehicle had fled on foot, the report states.  The vehicle was owned by 19-year-old Skyler James Turpin and he was located at his residence, according to police.  Turpin was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated – Minor.

*Texas Parks and Wildlife Department arrested 26-year-old Crystal Suk Clark for Public Intoxication.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Mark Alan Lyle for Possession of Marijuana greater than 2 oz. less than or equal 4 oz.

Sunday, September 18

*3:22am-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant advised that an unknown subject(s) broke the driver’s side rear window to his vehicle.  Nothing appeared to be missing from the interior of the vehicle the report states.  No known suspects were determined at the time of the report; however surveillance video is pending review.

*3:40am-A Brownwood Police officer noticed a vehicle parked with its lights on in the 500 block of W. Commerce.  According to the report, the officer could not see anyone initially but found a male, identified as 19-year-old Tyler Shane Simmons of Bangs, laying down in the pick-up.  After performing and failing standardized field sobriety tests, Simmons was arrested on charges of Public Intoxication.

*6:07am-Brownwood Police responded to a one vehicle accident at the intersection of Horseshoe Drive and Indian Creek.  After investigation, the driver, identified as 32-year-old Stephanie Blackburn, was determined to be intoxicated.   A warrant was obtained for a blood sample and she was taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for a blood draw.  She was then transported to the jail, held on charges of Driving While Intoxicated.

*3:23pm-Brownwood Police responded to the report of an assault in the 1500 block of Dublin Drive.  Police arrived and were informed the suspect had left the scene.  According to the report, the victim alleged that her boyfriend had punched her in the right hand causing her pain.

*8:40pm-Brownwood Police officers were dispatched to 300 Center regarding harassment.  According to the report, the complainant named a suspect who had been harassing her by text.  Criminal charges are being pursued.

*10:02pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart where a female suspect was being detained for shoplifting.  The suspect was found to be in possession of $41.61 in store merchandise which she admitted to concealing in her purse and attempting to leave the store without paying the report states.  The woman was issued a citation for theft under $50 and a criminal trespass warning for Wal-Mart.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 44-year-old Jose Luis Delgado of Whitney for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
